BIBLICAL REPENTANCE AND SALVATION.

John 16 v 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

The Comforter also referred to as the Spirit of truth in John 16 v 13 is
quite clearly the Holy Spirit. To reject Jesus and his atonement for
salvation is a sin that cannot be forgiven. Jesus rose from the dead
and ascended into Heaven because he alone lived a perfect, righteous,
sinless life. To the natural man it is not clear who the prince of this
world is. A look at Ephesians 2 v 2 and 2 Corinthians 4 v 4 will help
us clearly identify him.

Acts 20 v 20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,
21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

A repentance toward God is important accompanied with faith towards
our Lord Jesus Christ. The Greek mind set of most the educated west
find the gospel foolishness and seek after wisdom of man. Plato,
Aristotle, Socrates to name a few.

1 Corinthians 1 v 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

The wisdom of God is greater than the wisdom of this world. It takes a
biblical repentance towards God to be saved. This means a change of
mind and to believe the gospel. Read 1 Corinthians 15 v 1 - 4 and
 Romans 10 v 9 - 10 in the word of God.

Colossians 1 v  21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

Romans 5 v 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Once we believe the alienation we once felt disappears along with the
feelings of enmity we had towards God.

Romans 5 v 1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Genesis 6 v 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Careful study of scripture will Show God repenting is God changing
direction in his dealing with man on issues that were flexible to start
with. Over the dispensations God has changed his dealings with man
at various times.
