Christ Died For The Ungodly!
Acts 20 v 21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
At one time a person may not believe in God, and through
listening to preaching of the word of God, he may acknowledge
there is a creator God. This is known as biblical repentance!
This revelation alone will not save a person, he must believe
that Jesus is the Son of God and died for his sins; and exercise
faith by trusting him alone for salvation.
1 Corinthians 15 v 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
A saved person should always keep in memory the gospel
and be willing to share it with others. Many cults believe
in vain by adding or subtracting from the gospel.
Colossians 1 v 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Our sin has separated us from God and held us back from
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
seeking him. To acknowledge one self as a sinner; unable
to save himself takes humility. Once we truly come to that
point in believing; the gospel, we are born again and God hears our prayers. Our state before God changes from
sinners to righteous through faith.
Romans 10 v 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 5 v 1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
The former hostility and alienation has gone, and the born
again believer has a new nature.
Romans 5 v 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
God is love and love gives, and God gave his only begotten son
to die for us. The Holy Ghost reveals to us the love of God.
To be outside of Christ is to be in your sins separated from
the love of God in a often hostile mind.
