A GRIP ON LIFE!

I thought I had a grip on life!
I was young, I was strong.
I had my dreams,
I had my aspirations.
But the devil had a hold on me;
My sin I could not see!
I was drowning, drowning fast!
Barely able to stay afloat.
Until I got a grip on God!
And he got a hold of me,
And dragged me out the mire.

1 John 2 v 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

 Warning not to love a temporal world system, run on the principles of greed and fear! A continuous pursuit of pleasure and materialism that
is unable to fill mans real need and void. We need to be born again to
be able to see past the materialistic 5 senses and understand the plan
of God for our lives through the holy bible.

 John 3 v 1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

(A prominent position.)
 
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

(Nicodemus a Pharisee; humbly acknowledges Jesus, and his miracles being authentic.)

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

(Jesus begins to open Nicodemus`s mind to a new birth and the kingdom of God.)

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

(Nicodemus wisely probes further.)

5 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

(Jesus mentions two separate births. Water is obviously related to physical birth and of the Spirit;  is of God. Without the second birth we are unable to have a relationship with God the Father and cry Abba Father.)

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

(Born of the flesh meaning natural birth. Born of the Spirit is by the word of God, when our sins are atoned for and our spirit
quickened.)

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

(Don't be astonished there`s no other way to God!)

Religion in no way can cause a man to be born again; Nor can yoga or  meditation! They may lead to mystical experiences
and acknowledgement of another realm; but they leave the adherent further open to deceiving spirits.

John 4 v 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

1 Peter 1 v 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Cult Definition: A group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or as imposing excessive control over members. Concerns: Primarily the loss of salvation. The concern of the use of deceptive and manipulative methods by cults to recruit and indoctrinate unsuspecting members of      society. The cult methods that present a threat to individual and their family. Cult methods including mind control: Love bombing - Creating a sense of family and belonging through hugging, kissing, and flattery. Elitism - Claiming to have superior moral behaviour and understanding of the truth.  Isolation - Inducing loss of reality by physical separation from family, friends, society.
