We can know for certain if we apply ourselves.
Proverbs 22 v 17 Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.
18 For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.
19 That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.
20 Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
21 That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that
send unto thee?
Not everyone will humble themselves and really listen. God requires our full attention so we may know him. Only when we
truly come to know the Lord, are we able to develop a relationship with him; that leads to a heart change. We can know for
certain the way of salvation. When questioned about our faith we can boldly speak the truth in love.
Proverbs 1 v 5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
Proverbs 12 v 5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
Isaiah 25 v 1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of
old are faithfulness and truth.
2 Timothy 2 v 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
When we rightly divide the word of truth, and get things in there correct context, we are more able to understand doctrine.
1 Peter 3 v 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason
of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
When Christ Jesus has his rightful place in our hearts, our lips will automatically want to share the good news of the gospel.
When ministering or listening to anyone at all, lets not forget the meekness and fear of the Lord!
